The client was charged with adult assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code, and adult possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88(1) of the Criminal Code. Counsel was able to negotiate a mental health diversion during Crown pretrial negotiations. The charges were successfully withdrawn and the client did not have to proceed to trial.
